Down in the NC

“Stellar Corpse” in the hotel parking garage.
OK, this is a bit like herding cats. But as of right now I am staying at The Velvet Cloak Inn in Raleigh and planning on shooting with:
- Monday: Jen, aka Stellar Corpse
- Tuesday: Sarah R., Lauren, Ash
- Wednesday: Rebecca in the evening
- Thursday: Sandra after 2pm
- Friday: I don’t know yet
If we’ve talked about shooting please get in touch ASAP.
I brought plenty of other work to do in between — right before I left I scanned 30 4x5s from my shoot with Karen and I need to edit those. Plus I have a book to design. This hotel is decent and not too expensive, so I am happy to set up a little basecamp. There is even good skateboarding and nobody knows me, which is a good thing because my skating is embarrassing even for a guy my age.
Oh and don’t worry, I’m with nice people (Model Sarah).
I gave up on the Leica (again) after I shot a few rolls of 35mm film on the way down. Once again I realized that in spite of loving the quality of the camera, I am still much faster and more precise with a modern auto-focus, auto-magic digital SLR. It is listed for sale online; I already sold the Summicron lens but still have an interesting (and flare prone) Summarit and a black-repaint IIIc LTM body. This is rather like a soap opera or bad girlfriend — it is the fifth Leica I’ve had in three years — I keep trying to give them a second chance, over and over and over….
If I am going to bother with film, then it had better be large format.
