Lala
January 31, 2008
I shot with this model named Pistol Vegas out in the desert, then headed to LA where I met up with Betcee and then my daughter Liz and her best friends Tiff and Hannah. I’ve known Tiff and Hannah since they were tykes. Here is a semi-abstract night shot of the three girls on our way to see Juno:
Tiff, Hannah, Liz
Juno was great. I also saw Cloverfield, which was quite decent, I always love seeing NYC being destroyed. I really like LA better, I love Mexican food and where else can you find radio DJs like Jonesy (from the Sex Pistols) and Henry Rollins? Punk on mainstream radio, how refreshing.
Betcee was a Penthouse Pet last year, which isn’t why I shot with her at all but it is an interesting point of reference that I thought of her as rather “straight-laced” and wholesome compared to some of the people I’ve been shooting with. My what a journey it’s been….
My truck needs major work, there is a huge pile of bills and tax work to do, the house is trashed, and I still feel as “odd” as I did before my trip. Part of me wants to go back to bed. I think I will stop doing the redeye flights on purpose, I am never any good the next day or even the day after, so I lose at least a day no matter what I do.

Frank,
Helmut Newton is dead. You do not need to wait any longer. Get this work published!

Having seen some previews of your LA work already, I am dying for more. Nice B&W shots. Yeah, I agree with Ed. What the hell are you waiting for, a publisher to come to you? Get down to it, man. Beautiful mature work. If you wait too long, you might miss it all....
XXOO Thanks for the photos of the girls and for feeding them so well.
