Not Pinned to Fit

The famous war photographer, Robert Capa, once said, “If your pictures aren’t good enough, you aren’t close enough”. I’ve learned that his sentiment applies to more than just war photography…. I don’t know what to do with these pictures other than to publish them because I think they are strange and moving, blunt and honest, awkward and raw. And sometimes even funny — which pretty much sums up the kinds of photos I want to make.

No matter how hard it is to make them.

My photography instructor in college made it a point to remind us when handing out each assignment, "remember to take two steps closer, and then another one." I don't always remember it and it's not practical all the time, but it's been good advice in many situations. I really like your photography.
