The only good movie Kiki has ever done.
I think Karen is lovely, especially in her eyes. I didn’t do anything special with Photoshop to them — this is the way she looks, mostly — kind of like a Japanese super hero doll. Which is pretty darn cool when you think about it — I mean how many super heros have you hung out with? Hot ones in their skivvies no less….

These photos were done with a slightly wider lens than would be considered “normal” for portraiture, which accounts for the slight exaggeration of her features. Working this way draws a fine line between distorting and complimenting the subject, but when it works, I think it is beautiful and interesting in the same manner as modern Anime-influenced illustration. Or the work of contemporary German portraitists.
I could also mention the inclusion of mass media into my photos and spin a yard of college art professor bullshit about that aspect too. But enough with the rationalizations…. Women are beautiful — to me at least — and I like photographing them in different ways.
Big heads are cool, you know, like Kurt Halsey illustrations.
