Today started with a very pretty dawn, light frost, and a low hanging mist. Here is a 360° panoramic photo of where I live (opens a new page with a 600kb horizontal scrolling file). This was done using the automated “Photo Merge” function in Photoshop CS2 and I’m impressed — it isn’t perfect but it gets me close enough that I could do a really nice job if I had the patience to tweak the edges. In theory, a photographer can “build” a very high resolution image by “stitching” together multiple images. Given enough patience, even an inexpensive digital camera could be used to create huge, very detailed images.
My Charcoal Timer
Later in the day I invented a new way to tell when charcoal coals are ready to cook with. I threw a few small firecrackers on top of the charcoal pile — when they go “bang” it’s time to cook. No injuries yet but it’s only March — there’s still a long grilling season ahead of us.
BTW, the Darwin Awards is being made into a movie.
Olivia continues to love her “Doggie” — both as a constant companion and pillow. Thank goodness for washable friends.
Olivia and Doggie
None of us can quite shake our winter colds, ear infections, and viruses. Between being sick and hardcore potty training, something is always leaking out of one orifice or another…
A Very Sad Girl
I also did a semi-professional headshot of the missus — under duress, as there was a mucus-spewing infant screaming just outside of the shot. I love the shawl collar but should have straightened it out…darn. Still, she’s a pretty cute catch for a lunkhead like me.
