I spent a month photographing with my 8x10 in Sicily. Last day of my trip I sold the camera to a guy in Switzerland, shipping it FedEx (to his German drop). While I was there I sent all of the 8x10 film, 100 sheets, on to my lab in Rochester (Praus). Somewhere in transit the film boxes were opened and all of the sheets fanned out, exposed to light and ruined. Shooting 8x10 was the entire justification for the trip, I deliberately avoided the distraction of also shooting digital. And I know I made the best photos of my life there, seriously, I put a lot into it. I don't understand the cruel mentality of whomever's responsible. So the only photos I have are these few cellphone snaps. It's incredibly beautiful country, I did $3000 damage to my rental car bushwhacking. Truly like a gigantic movie set.
